The Old House in Nether Stowey is the ideal location for a relaxing bed and breakfast or self catering holiday in our three beautiful somerset cottages. The Old House is situated in the charming village of Nether Stowey which nestles on the edge of the Quantock Hills. It was this area of Somerset that provided inspiration for the poet Samuel Coleridge and his great friends the Wordsworths.

Records confirm that Coleridge actually lodged in The Old House in what is now our Quantocks Bed and Breakfast Suite. It was from here that he enjoyed the beauty of the countryside on long walks over the hills to Porlock, nowadays a popular route enjoyed by many visitors to the area. Only four miles from the coast many other beautiful walks can also be found. The Quantock Hills 'Area of Outstanding National Beauty' was the first designated in the UK.

The Quantocks are a favoured destination for anyone looking to enjoy a holiday in glorious rural surroundings with walking, riding and mountain biking all popular activities.  In recent years The Coleridge Way has become one of the favourite 2-3 day walks in the country. Local attractions offer many wonderful gardens, monuments and fine quality Quantock art and crafts outlets. Visitors also delight in local heritage sites both in the Quantocks and the surrounding area.  bedroomstable
